Southern Star Announces Non-Binding Open Season for the Canadian Blackwell Expansion Project

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. is pleased to announce the commencement of its Non-Binding Open Season for additional firm transportation capacity originating in western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. "Southern Star is geographically positioned to easily add incremental gas supply from the developing Granite Wash area in western Oklahoma and Texas. The Canadian Blackwell Expansion project will ultimately provide increased supply diversity for our customers and their markets at a competitive rate," said Philip Rullman, Vice President & Chief Commercial Services Officer.

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. Announces Elk City Storage Expansion Operational

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. announced today that its Elk City Firm Storage Expansion became operational April 1, 2011. This expansion increased Southern Star's daily deliverability by 40,000 decatherms per day and increased its storage capacity by 4,000,000 decatherms. The expanded capacity and deliverability are fully subscribed.

Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) announced today that its dedicated infrastructure group, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, will acquire a 40 percent economic stake and a 50 percent voting stake in Southern Star Central Corp., parent company of Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline (Southern Star), an interstate natural gas pipeline and storage operation servicing the Midwest region of the U.S.  Southern Star is the primary gas transmission and storage facility provider for several major Midwest cities and power generation providers. Southern Star serves the major metropolitan areas of Kansas City, Springfield, St. Louis, St. Joseph and Joplin, Missouri; and Kansas City, Wichita, Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas.
